Dive into the journey of life.
As one of the largest museums of natural history and human history in Western Japan, Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History & Human History shows the journey of nature and humankind extending from the birth of the planet 4.6 billion years ago to present times on a magnificent scale.
An array of imposing skeletal specimens of dinosaurs are exhibited, and with a moving diorama of dinosaurs, visitors can experience the Kitakyushu of prehistoric times. The museum also houses valuable historical materials, and visitors can learn about the transformation of human life.
In addition, festival and parade floats from Kitakyushus traditional summer festival are on display.
"The Journey of Life" is the concept behind the museum, with the hope that it becomes a place for learning the history that life has traveled, and for thinking about the way we will live into the future.
